Although we are not primarily a competitive program we do have a interest in competing. Participation in tournaments helps us improve our skills and experience. It also gives us a chance to play and have access to more pool time. In addition it allows our players to travel, exchange with other water polo players and develop new friendships.

Rockville Water Polo looks for three to four tournaments per season to attend, this number may vary depending on player interest. We bring co-ed teams to some tournaments, single sex teams to others.

The recent policy has been to have the club cover the tournament fee for Rockville Water Polo teams containing 12 qualified club members.

Tournament play helps coaches determine which skills to focus on in practice. But best of all, tournaments are fun!
